Don’t Be Fooled by Illegitimate Job Offerings

Scam Warning

An Alert to All Potential Job Candidates

A con artist is posing as John Bialous, our COO, in an attempt to trick job seekers into turning over their sensitive, personal information. We have also heard reports that the con artist is using the names of Brian Bartlett, our VP of IT Services, Chrysania McWain, our Lead Talent Scout, and Chris Miles our CEO.

We are taking this matter very seriously and are actively seeking ways to thwart this criminal.

The most important thing for you to know is that we DO NOT engage in the hiring process (interviews included) unless a candidate has completed an application in our online Candidate Portal. We will not offer you a job or interview over LinkedIn or any other platform without an application to this portal.

If you have been contacted with a job offer for our company by an email address that is not from our domain (@milesit.com), DO NOT REPLY. If you are unsure, please contact us at careers@milesit.com or give us a call at (856) 496-8001. In the meantime, here is what you need to be aware of:

The Phishing Scam

Illegitimate email accounts are being created with a likeness to our Company’s name (Miles IT) and are being used to contact job seekers who have posted their information on job sites. The emails sent claim to be “Mr John Bialous,” the COO of our company, however this is not the case. The impersonators start out by offering an “online interview” for a “strictly virtual position.” They will go as far as to set up an online interview through Google Hangouts, Skype, or Yahoo IM, in which they will ultimately offer you a position and then proceed to ask for personal information.

You should NEVER give out personal information through insecure messaging services. Any job application for Miles IT starts by applying through our web portal at https://milesit.com/careers.

If a recruiter from our company contacts you, they will send you directly to the Careers page to complete an application. Any email you receive from our employees will show up as name@milesit.com. We DO NOT use @gmail, @yahoo, @yandex, @everymail, @workmail, or anything other than @milesit.com.
